In a previous article, I introduced Susie, a small business owner and mother of 4 children. Facing the possibility of closing the doors of her kids toy store, she used Concentric Local Advertising methods to build a strong customer base and keep her business open. One of the small business advertising methods that Susie chose to use was forum marketing. Using this method has allowed Susie to meet many new people from all over the world. These are the steps that she completed to market her toys online.

1. Susie visited Boardtracker.com and typed in various keyword combinations that revolve around her products. A list of forums that contained her keywords was generated.
2. Susie then visited each forum and registered for an account within each one. A verification email was sent to the email account she used to sign up with the forums. She visited her email account and clicked on the verification link provided.
3. Next Susie visited each of the forums and this is where her local online marketing begins. She fills out her information on her profile that all the members will have access to. Then she edits her signature. Within this signature box, she enters a catch phrase of something like “For a great deal on the latest toys at rock bottom prices, visit…” and then she enters her website information. After reviewing her profile, she saves it and gets to work advertising.
4. Finally Susie reviews various posts of interest on the forums. When she finds a subject that she is knowledgeable on, she can add a comment. By leaving good
